Happy Hump Day!! It’s STILL my favorite day of the week! 
If we were running today, I’d tell you….

….I am FINALLY seeing some changes! 

I am down 3  from last week compared to Hubs like 6 or 7! I’m just happy I’m seeing the number go down for the first time in a while! I am more aware of the choices I make when eating. I basically go back and read my information from Swim Bike Fuel program that I did in November. It’s a great program and if you are interested sign ups are NOW for the session starting July 1st. 

….my BLING came in from the Disney Virtual Running Shorts.

If you remember, it’s a 5k series during the summer; your own time, your own pace, your own pace! And…you don’t have to feel embarrassed when you submit your time because you don’t HAVE too!😉  There are four runs and if you also remember from last week’s GAB, I had an epic FAIL moment when I found that the rest of the races were sold out!!

….I made popcorn in the microwave! Yeah…this isn’t Earth shattering news. But I’ve been doing some reading on microwave popcorn and how some of the stuff in it that’s not good for you! There are some chemicals worth long names and long initials that cause a multitude of health issues.  As a PA, I believe in medicine that is fact based.  Meaning there is a study to support the claim.  I don’t see one in particular, but my thoughts on this particular issue….if I can’t freaking PRONOUNCE it, I don’t think I want it in my body! Simple,right? So I am going to go back to air popped but I don’t have a machine. That’s where the paper bag comes in and all the fixins’ come in…

A pinch of salt

It turned out GREAT!!! It’s a tad bit more laborious than just opening the bag and putting in the ‘wave. Hope you can try it!!

…..I made it to 75# for my overhead squats (OHS) at CrossFit! Even at my best, I didn’t have that! I’m pretty stoked!

Happy Wednesday!! My favorite day of the week…Hump Day!!  Let’s go run!!

If we were running today, I’d tell you….

….that I finished another triathlon last weekend.  I’m pretty stoked that I have 2 races done this season and still have more to come!

…that if eat popcorn BEFORE you WOD, you WILL feel like you are going to barf!!  I had a little snack on the way to the gym.  Well…do 6 – 2 minute AMRAP consisting of 12 calorie row or assault bike and max rep of power cleans at 75#. Yeah…you’d want to barf,too!! And horrible residual heartburn, too, by the way. 😝 

…I’m still keeping up with #RWRUNSTREAK. Yep, still logging 1 mile daily.  

….I’m pretty pissed about missing a virtual race! What??? Yes!! This year, Disney was hosting a 3- 5k virtual runs: Red Pants, White Gloves, and Yellow Shoes (all parts of Mickey’s iconic outfit,for you non Disney folks).  Sign up, run, get a medal without having to submit a time. #winning. I’ve already done Yellow Pants and waiting for my medal.  Went to sign up for the others…
What?? REALLY????EPIC FAIL!!! My friend, Leslie, signed up for the series! I am sadly only getting one medal because all the rest were sold out! But because I am a good sport (and really need the practice!!), I’m going to run the 5ks with her. No medal, but getting in shape…I still win! 👊

….today is my birthday! Yep…44,baby!!  That went fast! I still feel like a stupid teenager, sometimes. And I really don’t like to “ADULT”on most days, but I guess because I’m a MOM, I have to!! 😂😂

THIS IS 44…and I intend to make it a GREAT year!  Here’s to an abundance of  health, happiness, and cocktails! 😂

T-minus…

…2 days and counting!  To what, you ask??

 Yes,folks…it is almost here!  No…not the movie (which I DID buy the DVD last week)…the Star Wars Race Weekend at Disney.   

 I’m going to run the 10k on Saturday.  This is my first Disney race, so I’m excited and nervous all wrapped together.    Like most of the themed races, costumes are encouraged (with rules of course!). I’ll  give you a hint of who I’m leaning towards… 

Cute, ain’t he?? Wonder how many R2D2s there will be?? Can’t wait to show you what I have to wear. Warning: it may be some what anticlimactic for you as a reader considering what some may wear. But I’m still excited! 

The expo started today, which I won’t be able to get to until tomorrow.  This is when I pick up my race packet and see all the stuff I want to buy and take home! 😂 I’ll be able to bring you some info on the expo tomorrow. #excited

The race weekend includes:

  • 5k on Friday 
  • 10k on Saturday 
  • Half marathon on Sunday

Whew!!!!

I’m staying on Disney property this weekend with the fam, so getting to the race will not be challenging.    They have free bus transportation to and from the race because I hear that parking is no bueno and there are several road closures, as well. #ainthavingTHAT

Can’t wait to bring you all that is Disney racing from this weekend.  May the Force be with You!

You WILL choose the Dark Side

…(in my best Darth Vader) yep, that’s right….

 I got in to the 10k at Disney in April 2016!!  

 If it sounds like I’m excited….I am!!!  This literally was the bright spot in my day.  Today, I was in EMR (electronic medical records) training ALL day at the hospital.  I set my alarm for the reminder because I’ve heard it’s crazy registration day.  I knew regardless if I was given a break during my session…I was registering at 12 noon SHARP!  I had the website open, my Active account open and already sign in, and I was waiting for 12.  Someone gave me a heads up to be READY to register and I listened! By 12:04….I was done!!!  

 I’ll spare you the cost but I’m sure those of you that have participated in a Disney run know they are costly. But I understand it is WELL worth it! 

Let me know if any of you are participating! Would love to meet you!!!  Now…..what to wear????  I’m kinda partial to my guy, R2D2…


Any suggestions???😉

Family Freaking Fun….

Let me just say that family vacations are exhausting! I love being able to spend time with my kids. As a working mother, I don’t get to spend as much time as I want/ need to with the kids. Where did you go you ask…?

That’s right…the MECCA of all that is family fun! My LORD is this place a mess! Strollers…kids…parents!! Merchandise, food, characters. Parents yelling at their kids about being “ungrateful”, “bratty”, “obnoxious”, parades, wrong people with wrong outfits! My head is spinning!! 3 parks in 4 days…WOW!! I spent a gazillion dollars for all this family fun! Kids loved it…I wanted to drink!!
SIDE NOTE:
You feel validated as a parent when you hear others yelling the SAME things to their kids as you are to yours!

I was glad that I was able to get SOME exercise during this va-cay…
Going to the peaks does include a lot of walking…but then you are eating a ton too! So it all evens out….
I was able to get 3 miles on 3 different days. It’s not a lot but one of my goals for 2014 is to get to do a 10k. I usually run during the week,either actual mileage or during a CrossFit WOD. But I need to do more! One of the reasons of doing this blog was to also to hold me accountable for these goals. I figured if I wrote it, said it, and now BLOGGED it…I gotta get going and DO it!

Back to work on Monday, which means kids are back to school and I’m back on my routine! It’s going to be a disaster great!!!
