Kick in the PANTS!

Hello Tuesday! So glad Monday is gone! Poor Monday is like the leftover Halloween candy that no one wants!! 😂

My first day back to exercising since HHI vacation. I had one WOD at CrossFit when I got back, but that doesn’t count because I didn’t do anything the rest of the week! #slacker

Yesterday, I decided (after skipping my youngest’s basketball practice intentionally! Yeah..I’m THAT mom) to go home and run. I hadn’t been in almost 3 weeks. I went out around 6:30pm…still HOT!! 

I managed to get 1.5 miles in, but that run felt so HARD! Like haven’t done this before. I’ve managed to do it again…off the wagon…on the wagon!  Wait…one minute….I’ve heard this speech before! It was just the kick in the pants I needed to get me going….again!

Tuesday, I got to the gym, like a bat out of hell, because I was running late!! The WOD looked fairly “easy”:

3 rounds:

400m 

21 burpees

Time- 15:13

First….the whiteboard LIES! You think it’s easy and by round 2 you wanna curse some one out! 

Second…anything with THAT many burpees, you are just ASKING for trouble! (See above)

Third….why did I feel so out of shape? I mean I “only” missed a week???

Wednesday will be either a rest day / stationary bike day. I also have to tally my virtual tri times and submit for my bling!

Hubs and I are still on out weight loss goals.  I got to a stand still on vacation, but I’m back! Weight weigh…go away! Come back…NEVER!!  I sure did get kicking right square in the pants on all of this! I won’t take this much of break again….

Thus far….

This week has been good, thus far, at least on the exercise front.  😉

Monday – Leslie and I, fresh off our 5k from Saturday, got a run in.  Thankfully… torrential Florida rain (ie “there was a TS brewing”) gave us afternoon showers, which lead us to “not so HOT Hades” weather for our run!  This was a good run for me, just like Saturday.  Maybe this whole “running with my Polar but not obsessively looking at it for my pace” thing is working.  I just ran…. 

 …and it was NICE!  

My shins are a little sore, mostly on the right, from those DAMN jump ropes at CF last week!! Remember I suffered the WRATH from the multitude of double unders last year?? This is NO way the same, but it is a touch sore but a different side than before. #treadLIGHTLYangie

Tuesday- we AGAIN got the run in!  Another HOT day (whoa..what a SURPRISE!!) for a run!  It was 100 degrees that registered in the car when I left work.  I forgot my Polar at home on the charger, so I ran without today. Like I said before, it was nice…liberating, almost.  A struggle though…as I am used to trying to get back to MY pace.  Apparently the secret is to NOT look at it…. 

 A nice little jaunt before pick of up the kiddos.  The shin did well, but I did put my compression hose on.  I DON’T want a reoccurrence of last year! #hellNO

Tomorrow- going to try and either go to CF or do a CF-inspired WOD.  Wish me luck! 😉👍

Oh…

Happy Mommy Moment!!!  Aidan came to me and said that he wanted to have the FASTEST TIME in the mile in his grade (3rd, that is) this year (like his brother, mind you).  He asked me if I could show him how to use the DREADmill.  It was so cute!! If I wasn’t so CHEAP, I’d pay WP for the ability to upload videos, and then you could see him! If you follow me on IG, you can see the Master at work!

Hello, Thursday!

I feel like I haven’t posted in a while…like FOREVER!  I made it to Thursday! Seems like a BLUR!  My morning running routine took a little pause this week (with a set date of return NEXT WEEK!).  If you remember, Monday called for an early morning wake up! So NO early run then! I went for a run and went to CF after work.  

Tuesday,  I chose to take off because I was tired. I’m ok with the rest day…😉. I literally allowed me to veg on the couch and do nothing! Some times those things/moments are PRECIOUS! #itstheLITTLEthings

Wednesday, I didn’t get up to run because I chose to stay up late to watch the GS Warriors take on (and BEAT) the Cleveland Cavaliers on Tuesday evening.   Kinda hard to get up early when you stay up late! #moron. Aidan had basketball practice that evening.  He plays on a 3rd grade team and they have a game coming up (so cute!!).  Any way…they were able to practice at University of South Florida Pam and Les MUMA Basketball Center.  It was AMAZING!!   

 There are 2…count them 2….practice courts with multiple hoops to accommodate the team playing full court or skill drills.  Aidan was in basketball heaven…  

 He looks like a little ant on the court!!  While he was practicing, I went for a run around campus.  I have only ever been a few places on campus and now I can add this building to the places I have seen.

 See the Sun Dome?  That’s right where we were on campus.   It was SOOOOOOO hot out there! I ran about 7pm and it was still HOT as the Devil’s house itself! 😉. On a side note, I am finding that running in the evening is becoming more and more undesirable!  It’s making me NOT want to run! I feel like I’m running with weights on my legs….it’s hard to get moving FASTER when I feel like I’m running through mud!  But I keep on trucking…

Today (aka Thursday) I found myself back in CF. 

 Does that SERIOUSLY say 105 deadlifts AND push-ups???  Of course it does!!! I got it done and then went for a run.  A short and sloooooooow run!  

 My JANKY running app didn’t start on time, so it missed a few increments from my total mileage.  Don’t be TOO impressed, because I only ran 1.05 because it was hot (see above) and my ass and hamstrings were killing me from 5 bazillion deadlifts!! #gonnaHURTtomorrow 

I haven’t really planned for tomorrow, in terms of exercise.  Hubs put our bike together…

 so…maybe???  

We shall see what Friday has in store for me. 😉
