What’s that number?? Oh….that’s my number from today’s triathlon….that got CANCELLED! Here in the Tampa Bay, we were expecting some rain.  When Sam and I arrived a little after 6:00am at Ft. DeSoto, it was a little windy but everything was a GO!

  Our  little “Tri” group. We’re going think of a name! 3 of the 4 of us are mothers and have mommy “guts”, so I thought why not Tri Guts??? 
We headed to the swim, which because of the “inclement weather”, was in the lagoon and not the bay (as originally planned).  My wave time was 7:04am, but it was on hold.  We waited…we waited…and waited.  An hour (and change) had passed and we all finally got word that the race had been cancelled.  The race directors told us that we would hear soon if the race would be a) rescheduled or b) get a refund.  So, I wait….

We retrieved our belongings (all the while being sarcastic…you know…”I FINISHED!!”; “I won my age group!!!”…stuff like that!) and got to the car.  We were STILL waiting for the down pour… 

 Nope…not yet!  I/we were kind of pissed because we didn’t see WHY the race had to be cancelled.  We thought we have been well into the bike before it started, but I guess that wasn’t our call.  Angry or not…we were DONE! 

As we get closer to my house… 

 …guess they knew what they were talking about,huh?? #safetyFIRST 

It was POURING by the time I got home.  I figures since I was already dressed for some exercise, I might as well do something!  

   Couldn’t do anything with THIS….
DREADmill time!  I ran a little on the ‘mill and rode the stationary bike for 5 miles.  

 In case you want to know, THIS is what you do when you are ALL marked up and no RACE to go to! ๐Ÿ˜‰

Truth be told, it was probably a good thing that the race was cancelled.  I wasn’t really prepared for it.  And I was really going into this for the ass beating to help me back on track!!  Guess everything happens for a reason…..

WILT #10

I’m SORE from yesterday’s WOD…

So here I go…..

1. FIZZIO
Have you seen or heard about Starbucks new hand crafted soda?? Let me say….I LOVE this!! It comes in three different flavones: Ginger ale, Lemonade, and Spiced Root Beer.

2. Granola
How do I love thee??? Let me count the ways!!!! I found a new one whilst pumping gas at my local RaceTrac!

3. Muscle Milk
I stumbled upon this…again at my local RaceTrac gas station.

4. DREADmill
As much as I HATE the thing, it is a STAPLE in my morning now! Since I have added a 4 am run (amounts to about 2.25 miles in the time I have), I have to run on the DREADmill because it pitch ass dark at that time!!

IMG_4074.JPGOf course I’m STUCK in #garagePARADISE!! But I love my time in the morning with DREADmill. We have taken out relationship to a whole NEW level! ๐Ÿ˜˜โค๏ธ

5. New races
I signed up for a triathlon in October. An all woman’s race!!

PS…I still haven’t forgotten to finish “The 10 Day YOU challenge”. No one said that I HAD to finish in 10 CONSECUTIVE days!! ๐Ÿ˜‰

I did it…..

I got up this morning…unfortunately at 4 am, because I had a date with my treadmill! Or as I ALWAYS affectionately call it….DREADmill! I literally hate running on it but I have to more days than not because of hubby’s schedule and mine. I only did 1.61 miles. That’s all time allots for in the wee morning hours….then it’s on to get ready, get the kids going, and out the door by 6 am.

I’m STOKED that I didn’t hit the snooze button for the millionth time!!
I’m getting myself ready to do a repeat tomorrow am. It really was a great way to start my day!!

I finished my day with a CF WOD….

How was your day??

Running = JOY

No CrossFit for me today. A lot of members are competing this weekend, so gym was CLOSED. But it’s all good, because there is always….ALWAYS the DREADmill! So, I squeezed in a quickie before dinner. I wasn’t killing any records, but it made me happy to run!

That was fun!

Since coming off the hiatus and getting (slowly) back to running, I feel like I am falling in love all over again!! I have a new feeling for running; because you never really know HOW much you miss something until someone/something tells you “you can’t”!!! I found my joy of running hadn’t faded.

I try not to focus in the number. You know…”time”, “PRs”, “paces”. I just try to FEEL when I run- patience, healing, prayer,happiness,love….

I like having that back!!!

Rest day tomorrow because I’m going to run a 5K on Saturday.
SN: my butt STILL hasn’t swam yet! My race is 3 weeks away! You think I should….??๐Ÿ˜‰
